What is a 120 Hz display?

We all know that HZ is a unit to measure frequency. Frequency is the number of vibrations per second. But why frequency is used in display Hz? Because both are related. Screen refresh rate is measured using the term Hz or Hertz. It means, how many times the display refreshes per second. In a 60 Hz display, the screen refreshes 60 times every second. In a 120 Hz display, the screen refreshes with new information 120 times a second. Higher is better but there are only diminishing returns after 144 Hz. Generally, 120 Hz display is much smoother compared to 60 Hz. Hence, the 120 Hz displays are taking the stage compared to 60 Hz displays.
