Ever since the introduction of Walkmans and iPods, earbuds have become small items in our pockets. Be it jogging or working or perhaps while sleeping, we cannot separate from a pair of earbuds. Despite its size, the price can vary from $5 to $1000 or even more. Today, we are going to see the best earbuds under $30.
1) kz zsn pro – best earbuds under $30
This pair of earbuds are totally different from the rest of the pairs that are reviewed in this article. They market it as an in-ear monitor. Artists mainly use these during stage performances. This earphone uses two drivers for optimum performances.
The build is fantastic. It comes with a durable metal backplate. They are a bit bulky owing to the build. You will get braided cables as standard. The best thing is those cables are detachable, and therefore replacement will be available if damaged. Wearing them for a long time is comfortable. They have designed the memory cables to go around your ears.
How does it sound?
The sound signature is neutral in nature. Smooth bass, excellent midrange, and airy treble are the characteristics. The sound stage is wide and layered. It has excellent depth too.
The bass is strong, punchy, and digs deeper. The Low-frequency extension is below 20 Hz. Therefore all the rumble is guaranteed to sound better.
The midrange is sweet and clear. The vocals are outstanding and nicely blend into the mix. Instruments are great to listen to, and the separation is excellent.
The treble sound is good but on the brighter side. The earphone sounds airy. Poorly recorded music may feel like piercing into the ear. You may dial in the eq a couple of notches down, and you’re great to go.
Overall the KZ ZSN Pro is excellent and is a complete value for the money paid.
- Great build
- Neutral sound signature
- Great sound quality
- Detachable cables
- Treble might be a lot for some music.
Sound magic E10 c is my go-to earbuds for several years now. I have purchased them thrice and have also gifted the same to my sister.
When you put on the earbuds, the next thing you notice would be its isolation. It completely isolated the external noise. When you start playing music, you will quickly appreciate its wide sound stage. It is very wide, and the instruments are well arranged.
The build is good, and the cables are of very good quality. On my two pairs, the capsule got detached from its base, but my usage was heavy. Otherwise, the build is nothing to complain about. This one is one of the very best budget earbuds under $30.
How does it Sounds?
The sound signature is U or smile shaped, in my opinion. There is an emphasis on bass. The bass itself is tight and articulate and accurate. It doesn’t bleed into the mids, which is great. Bass heads may be satisfied with this pair.
The mids are recessed. However, clarity is mind-blowing. With the large sound stage, it is a treat to listen to it. Vocals sounds a bit recessed and appear to sound from the back of the mix
The treble is neutral. Some songs sounded edgy; otherwise, you will experience a smooth treble. At $30, you can’t go wrong with this.
- Good build for the tangle free cable
- Very detailed
- Articulate bass
- Build of the capsule is questionable.
3) RHA MA 390
RHA headphones are called as Aston Martin of headphones. They are stylish, built to last, and has excellent performance.
Th build quality is very good. The capsule is made of aluminum. That means it is light and durable. Can’t get better than this for $30. The capsule looks great too. Wide at the edges and tapers down like a funnel.
The sound signature is V-shaped and has an emphasis on the bass region. This caters to average earphone buyers’ demand—the bass is smooth and punchy. You can hear layers of bass sound with it.
The midrange is precise. The upper mid is very smooth. At times the bass bleeds into the mid-range. Like the bass, the treble is also a little bit more pronounced. But it is no way ugly or terrible. All the texture on the cymbal sounds is retained. The treble is not sibilant or harsh by any means.
Fitting is easy, and the ear tips are comfortable. The noise isolation is great too. This is one of the best earbuds under $30.
- The build is super strong
- The casing is made of aluminum
- Punchy bass
- The sound signature of V shape might not be everyone’s cup of tea.
Sony has been making fabulous headphones for years now. Although it costs you$30, it produces nice bass for what we pay. The carton box also says, “extra bass.”
The cable is tangle-free because the construction is flat. The earbuds by itself look pleasing to the eyes. The earbuds seal in the ear quite nicely and therefore gives you excellent noise isolation. The only negative is the cord rubbing on the clothes sound reaches the ear and is something irking.
The bass is really pronounced in this pair of earbuds. Like the cover says, the extra bass in quite nice to have for bass heads. Even with additional bass, the layers of low frequencies can be heard.
The mids are clear and accurate. The bass slightly bleeds into mids, though. This leaves me thinking that the earbuds have scooped up mids. Yet there is still a good separation between the bass and mids. The highs are okay. It is well detailed. Upper highs that bring air to the sound is nothing to write home about. My personal preference is the black color. You have black, blue and red to choose from. Overall, this is the best bass earphones under $30.
- From the house of Sony
- Bassy earphones
- Looks cool
- Good sound quality
- Lacking highs
- Build can be questionable
This earphone has a casing built from wood. The capsule itself is beautiful and nice to touch. The build quality is decent for what is being paid. The cables are rubberized, thick, long, and strong.
The sound signature of this headphone is dark in nature. It means the sounds biased to the bass end of the music. The treble is recessed. The bass is strong, punchy, and reasonably accurate too. The good thing is that it is flat across the bass range.
The midrange is good although it is slightly recessed. That means the vocals are slightly pushed back. The clarity is good, and so is the accuracy.
Treble performance is lacking. So, why does it make it to the list? Because some prefer dark tonality. Some sacrifice rick treble for a long session of listening. This headphone is perfect for such people. This is one of the best cheap earbuds under $30.
- Fantastic build
- Wood finish
- Bassy sound
- Treble lacks a lot
- Dark sound signature
